Dubai's Flydubai Resumes Operations to Damascus International Airport
Following years of interruption, Flydubai's inaugural flight lands at Damascus International Airport on June 1, 2025.
On June 1, 2025, Damascus International Airport welcomed its first flight from Flydubai after a prolonged hiatus of several years.
The reception ceremony was attended by the UAE Ambassador to Syria, Hassan Ahmed Al-Shahi, along with an official delegation.
Key officials present included Abdul Bari Al-Saj, Deputy Head of the Syrian Civil Aviation Authority, Amjad Nikhala, the Authority's Director, and Alaa Salal, Director of Public Relations.
Flydubai has commenced direct flights from Dubai to Damascus as part of an initiative to enhance regional connectivity.
The resumption of services follows the successful fulfillment of all operational standards at Damascus International Airport, achieved through collaboration with relevant authorities.
This development marks a significant step in revitalizing air travel to and from Syria, aiming to facilitate stronger ties and boost tourism and trade in the region.
