Kuwait Initiates Passport Reissuance for Women Whose Nationality Was Revoked
The General Department for Nationality and Travel Documents begins a new process for granting passports under specific legal provisions.
Kuwait's General Department for Nationality and Travel Documents has announced the commencement of passport reissuance for women whose citizenship was previously revoked under Article 8 of the Kuwaiti Nationality Law.
The process requires individuals to schedule an appointment via the 'Sahl' application on the Metta platform.
In a statement, the Ministry of Interior emphasized that this initiative aligns with directives aimed at permitting travel for those who have had their nationalities revoked.
The statement specified that the affected individuals are to be treated in accordance with the provisions applicable to Kuwaiti women.
The administration clarified that the passport reissuance process will only occur after an appointment is made through the Metta platform, with users instructed to select the following options: Appointments > Ministry of Interior > General Department for Nationality and Travel Documents > Collection of Passport under Article 8. Individuals must also present their passport submission receipt at the scheduled appointment.
This step is part of the Ministry's effort to streamline services and ensure compliance with established legal frameworks while enhancing the overall efficiency of public services.
