Sharjah authorities are currently engaged in an extensive firefighting operation that began early Saturday morning at Hamriyah Port, following the outbreak of a significant fire at approximately 8 AM local time.
The blaze ignited highly flammable materials stored at the site, prompting immediate response efforts.
Emergency services arrived swiftly to combat the fire and have reportedly succeeded in containing the spread.
According to Major General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, the commander-in-chief of Sharjah Police and head of the Local Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster Management Team, no casualties have been recorded to date.

In addition to the incident at Hamriyah Port, Sharjah has experienced a series of recent fires.
One such fire occurred last week at a petrochemical and fiberglass facility in the Al Sajaa area, where Swift action from the Sharjah Civil Defence resulted in the containment of the fire without affecting adjacent facilities.
On the same day, another fire broke out at a warehouse in Abu Dhabi's Mussaffah industrial area.
Firefighting units from both Abu Dhabi Police and the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority collaborated effectively to extinguish the blaze, with no reported injuries or casualties.
Local authorities have consistently urged the community and media outlets to depend solely on official communications regarding these emergencies, in an ongoing effort to mitigate misinformation during critical situations.
Updates on the current firefighting efforts at Hamriyah Port will be communicated as the situation evolves.
