Comprehensive Medical Team Established to Support UAE Pilgrims during Hajj
Health officials ensure readiness with vaccinations, medical supplies, and continuous monitoring for pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Issam Al-Zarouni, a member of the Health Affairs Committee at the UAE Hajj Affairs Office, confirmed that the committee is responsible for monitoring the health status of UAE pilgrims before and during their pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.
This includes conducting necessary medical examinations and providing essential vaccinations, alongside offering guidelines and instructions on how to perform the rituals in a safe and healthy manner.
In his remarks, Al-Zarouni stated that the committee consists of a specialized medical team equipped with the necessary devices and equipment to deliver essential health services across all pilgrimage sites in Mina and Arafat.
Medical supplies, including medications and solutions, are available in adequate quantities.
He emphasized that if a pilgrim requires hospitalization, they will be transferred to one of the specialized hospitals in coordination with relevant authorities in Saudi Arabia, while the medical team continues to monitor their condition.
The committee places significant emphasis on health awareness and education, particularly regarding the prevention of heat stress and sunstroke, as well as measures to reduce the spread of respiratory illnesses.
Preventive guidelines are also provided to ensure the overall health of pilgrims, facilitating their ability to perform rituals smoothly and without health complications.
