FIFA Allocates $1 Billion in Prize Money for 2025 Club World Cup
The new distribution model highlights the financial commitment to global football development.
FIFA has announced a total prize fund of $1 billion for the 32 clubs participating in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
This initiative reflects FIFA's strategy to enhance financial support for clubs globally.
According to FIFA's statement released recently, this decision follows initial budget estimates and has been authorized after discussions with key stakeholders, including the European Club Association.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino stated that the new distribution model represents the financial progress of club football, marking the largest sum ever allocated for prize money in a tournament format that consists of seven matches leading up to the final, starting from the group stage and proceeding through knockout rounds.
The winning team is slated to receive $125 million.
In addition to the prize money for participating clubs, FIFA is also introducing an unprecedented solidarity investment program that aims to allocate at least an additional $250 million to support football development worldwide.
This initiative is designed to bolster FIFA's ongoing efforts to make football a truly global sport.
