Nationwide caution urged amidst dense fog over Abu Dhabi, Al Dhafrah, and Al Ain regions.
Dubai: Navigating the early morning streets in parts of the United Arab Emirates became a challenging endeavor as the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) issued red and yellow fog alerts on Monday across regions of Abu Dhabi, Al Dhafrah, and Al Ain.
Motorists are advised to exercise heightened caution and adhere to safety measures while on the road, as the dense fog significantly reduces visibility.
The fog, described as particularly dense, enveloped various locations.
In the Al Ain region, areas such as Sweihan, Remah, Al Khazna, Al Wiqan, and Bu Kirayyah roads reported major impairments.
In the capital, Abu Dhabi's Al Falah and Al Khatim also experienced low visibility conditions, with alerts extending to Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid road, a vital artery for commuter and logistics traffic.
Al Dhafrah was not spared, with fog observed over Liwa, Habshan, Muzairah, Mahadir Al Gharbiya, Madinat Zayed, Bu Hasa, Arada, Ghiyathi, Hamim, Jisaywrah, Mukhayriz, and Owtaid.
These alerts come as the UAE experiences rising humidity levels, particularly in the evenings, setting conducive conditions for such weather phenomena.
The forecast from the NCM for the upcoming day indicates potential for further fog or mist formation, particularly over coastal and internal areas, as humidity persists.
Daytime temperatures are expected to be comfortable, ranging between 21 and 25 degrees Celsius in coastal regions, with night temperatures dipping to between 11 and 15 degrees Celsius.
Residents should also brace for light to moderate winds, which are anticipated to reach speeds of up to 30 km/hr, potentially influencing traffic flow and outdoor activities.
As fog remains a recurrent weather challenge in the region, the authorities and the public are advised to remain vigilant, ensuring everyone’s safety.
