India Secures Victory at the 16th Fazza International Championships for People of Determination
The Indian team clinches 21 medals, leading the competition held in Dubai, with notable performances from athletes across several nations.
The Indian team has emerged as the champion of the 16th Fazza International Championships for People of Determination, which concluded at the Dubai Club for People of Determination.
The event was held under the patronage of Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council.
India's athletes achieved significant success, securing a total of 21 medals, comprised of 9 golds, 8 silvers, and 4 bronzes.
The Saudi team finished in second place with a total of 19 medals, including 9 golds, 6 silvers, and 4 bronzes.
Kenya placed third with 16 medals, consisting of 9 golds, 1 silver, and 6 bronzes.
The host nation, represented by the UAE team, ranked fourth, also with 21 medals — 8 golds, 6 silvers, and 7 bronzes.
Notable performances included that of UAE athlete Mohammed Youssef, who won three medals: a gold in the T34 100-meter wheelchair race and two bronzes in the 400-meter and 800-meter events.
Majid Al-Usaimi, Director of the Fazza International Championships for People of Determination, expressed gratitude to Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed for his significant support for individuals with determination.
He emphasized the importance of providing resources and opportunities for success in both national and international competitions.
Al-Usaimi also acknowledged the collaboration of sponsors and partners who contributed to the success of the event, along with volunteers and media personnel.
He highlighted that the strong interest from the UAE leadership in supporting individuals with determination has led to positive outcomes, including athletes reaching podiums and achieving their goals.
In addition, Al-Usaimi noted that participation from elite athletes and emerging talent at the Dubai event reflects the high standards of the Fazza Championships.
He remarked on the importance of the competition as a platform for young champions to engage with various global sporting schools, marking a crucial step toward their future successes.
