Iranian Officials Confirm Ali Shamkhani's Condition After Airstrike
Reports clarify that Ali Shamkhani, a senior advisor to Iran's Supreme Leader, remains alive and is receiving medical care following a recent attack.
Iranian media reported on Monday that Ali Shamkhani, a key advisor to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, is still receiving intensive medical treatment in a hospital after sustaining serious injuries from an airstrike attributed to Israel.
The attack occurred early on Friday, targeting Shamkhani’s residence.
According to the Iranian news agency Tasnim, the medical team overseeing Shamkhani’s care stated that his condition has become 'relatively stable', following successful management of many of the injuries he incurred during the assault.
The head of the medical team noted the persistence of the healthcare staff in addressing Shamkhani's injuries, indicating that his overall condition has seen improvement since the previous day.
However, the medical team cautioned that due to the severity of the internal injuries caused by the explosion, a definitive and accurate assessment of his condition cannot yet be made, despite notable improvements observed in recent days.
Earlier reports in Iranian media had erroneously declared Shamkhani deceased due to the severity of his wounds sustained in the Israeli airstrike.
Sources had indicated that he had passed away in a hospital in Tehran from injuries inflicted during the attack.
As of now, there has been no official comment from Iranian authorities or Israeli officials regarding these conflicting reports.
