Kim Soo-hyun Controversy Escalates Amid New Allegations Involving Sulli's Brother and Industry Peers
New claims against actor Kim Soo-hyun intensify as Sulli’s brother alleges pressure related to film intimate scenes, drawing in other industry figures.
The ongoing controversy surrounding South Korean actor Kim Soo-hyun shows no signs of subsiding.
Following recent allegations regarding his relationship with late actress Kim Sae-ron, both Kim Soo-hyun and his agency have firmly denied claims that he dated her while she was still a minor or that he exerted pressure during her financial struggles.
This controversy has since evolved, particularly with the emergence of new allegations related to his film _Real_, which featured the late Sulli, who passed away in 2019.
Sulli’s brother, Choi Da Hee, has accused Kim Soo-hyun of pressuring Sulli into performing intimate scenes for the film.
This accusation was conveyed through a cryptic post on social media where Choi Da Hee mentioned several notable figures in the entertainment industry, including _Real’s_ director Lee Sa-rang (also known as Lee Ro-be), actor Kim Soo-hyun, YouTuber Lee Jin-ho, Kim Sae-ron’s manager, and former director Lee Jung Sub, who was reportedly replaced during the film's production.
Amidst this escalating situation, singer and actress IU has found herself drawn into the controversy due to her long-standing friendship with Kim Soo-hyun.
Having first appeared together in the 2011 drama _Dream High_, the two maintain a close professional and personal bond; Kim Soo-hyun even attended IU's concert scheduled for 2024. As the scandal has intensified, IU's silence has raised questions among fans and critics alike.
Choi Da Hee initially commended IU for her emotional and artistic support to Sulli but subsequently amended his remarks, implying that IU's connection to Kim Soo-hyun compromised her actions.
He asserted that after IU declined the original female lead role in _Real_, she passed the script on to Sulli.
In addition, actors Im Si-wan and Jung Hae-in have received backlash for their perceived lack of response to the situation.
Public sentiment has been particularly vocal regarding their continued social media association with Kim Soo-hyun, despite the surfacing allegations.
While some fans defend Im Si-wan, arguing for his separation from the scandal, he unfollowed 87 accounts on Instagram, including that of Kim Soo-hyun.
Amid the rising tide of allegations, Kim Soo-hyun's agency has persistently denied any wrongdoing from the actor, labeling the accusations as unfounded rumors aimed at damaging his public image.
