La Liga, the governing body of professional football in Spain, has officially announced changes to the match schedule for FC Barcelona and Real Madrid due to the recent draw for the UEFA Champions League round of 16. The modification affects the fixtures for La Liga's 26th matchday, initially scheduled for the beginning of March.
FC Barcelona's match against Real Sociedad has been rescheduled to Sunday, March 2, moving from its original date of Saturday, March 1. The match will now kick off at 16:15 local time in Madrid.
In contrast, Real Madrid's fixture against Real Betis will take place on Saturday, March 1, instead of being held on Sunday, March 2, and is set to start at 18:30 local time.
Both teams are preparing for their respective UEFA Champions League ties in the knockout stage.
Real Madrid is set to face Atlético Madrid on Tuesday, March 4, while Barcelona will encounter Benfica from Portugal on Wednesday, March 5.
