Mumbai Police have detained a suspect in connection with the stabbing of Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, which occurred at his residence in Bandra.

The suspect was brought to the Bandra Police Station for interrogation.

The attack took place in the early hours of Thursday at around 2:30 am when an intruder entered the 11th-floor apartment of the actor.

The confrontation began after the intruder allegedly engaged with the household staff, whereupon Saif Ali Khan attempted to de-escalate the situation.

The incident escalated into violence, resulting in the actor sustaining multiple stab wounds.

Following the attack, Khan was taken to Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent surgery for his injuries.

According to the Mumbai Police, a section of the blade used in the attack was recovered from Khan's back, and efforts continue to retrieve the remaining portion.

Officials have stated that the accused was last sighted near Bandra Railway Station and may have subsequently traveled to Vasai Virar via the local train service.

Police units are actively searching in the Vasai, Nalasopara, and Virar areas to apprehend the suspect.

The investigation is ongoing, with authorities focusing on gathering additional evidence and witness testimonies.
