Nakheel Awards Major Contracts for Jumeirah Palm Development
Three significant contracts exceeding AED 750 million have been awarded for infrastructure work at the Jumeirah Palm project, with an anticipated completion by Q4 2026.
Nakheel, a subsidiary of Dubai Holding and a prominent real estate developer, has announced the awarding of three major contracts collectively valued at over AED 750 million for infrastructure development at the Jumeirah Palm project.
The infrastructure works are expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2026.
The contracts, awarded to DBB Contracting, represent a significant milestone in the ongoing development of this waterfront destination in Dubai.
DBB Contracting has a proven track record within the Jumeirah Palm area, having previously secured contracts for other infrastructure projects on the island, including the construction of a public road and a dedicated construction access road.
The Jumeirah Palm project is one of Nakheel's most ambitious endeavors and is set to establish a new standard for waterfront living, featuring an exceptional array of modern amenities.
This project significantly contributes to Dubai's growth prospects over the coming decades, aligning with the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) and marking a new phase of urban expansion in the Jebel Ali area.
It draws inspiration from the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, aimed at cementing Dubai's status as one of the best cities for living, working, and visiting globally while enhancing the emirate's urban development.
Khaled Malek, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Holding Real Estate, stated that the Jumeirah Palm project embodies Dubai’s ambition to redefine luxurious waterfront living on a global scale.
He emphasized the project's role as a transformative initiative in the city's urban landscape, inspired by the leadership's vision for Dubai's future.
He added that Nakheel is pleased to continue its collaboration with DBB Contracting, stating it is a partner with extensive experience, a robust track record of achievements, and a commitment to quality, which will ensure the successful execution of this critical project.
Eugenie Patrick Terbilanchi, General Manager of DBB Contracting, expressed pride in participating in this landmark project.
He expressed eagerness to work with Nakheel in shaping Dubai's future and highlighted the company's commitment to excellence in delivering this ambitious project.
The comprehensive infrastructure works on the fronds from A to G include utility connections, all associated excavation and filling works, and the construction of roads and pavements.
The scope of work also encompasses all utility-related projects for an 11 kV power distribution line and communications.
The central area infrastructure works involve key utility installations, connecting all utility lines to the fronds, and constructing all major and secondary roads along with land leveling for the electricity line from Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) that services the Jumeirah Palm, including related works.
The seven islands of Jumeirah Palm span 13.4 kilometers and consist of 16 fronds, with a beach stretching 90 kilometers, in line with the objectives of the Dubai Urban Plan 2040, which aims to enhance public beach accessibility.
