New Child Development Centre for Autism and ADHD Opens in Bur Dubai
Aster Clinics launches an integrated care facility aimed at supporting children with developmental challenges
A new Integrated Child Development Centre has been inaugurated in Bur Dubai, aimed at providing comprehensive care for children with developmental needs.
Developed by Aster Clinics in collaboration with DYU Healthcare, the centre offers tailored therapy services to children with conditions such as autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities.
Designed for children aged 0 to 16 years, the centre provides holistic care that includes screening, assessments, diagnosis, and customized interventions.
The integrated approach focuses on enhancing critical developmental areas including mobility, strength, coordination, cognition, communication, social skills, and emotional growth.
The centre employs an interdisciplinary model, uniting medical doctors and rehabilitation professionals to devise individualized care plans.
Services encompass screening and diagnosing developmental delays, neurodevelopmental disorders, communication and motor issues as well as behavioral assessments.
Evaluations include speech and language skills, sensory integration, IQ testing, and special education needs, specifically addressing conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Down Syndrome, learning disabilities, and speech-language disorders.
A Psycho-Educational Analysis is part of the diagnostic framework, utilizing multidisciplinary insights to create personalized intervention plans.
The centre is equipped with internationally recognized assessment tools to ensure evidence-based care from screening through to therapy.
It will also support children transitioning from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and those needing ongoing early childhood care.
Under the partnership agreement, DYU Healthcare will manage the operational aspects of the centre, implementing its established care models, while Aster Clinics will provide strategic oversight.
Alisha Moopen, Managing Director and Group CEO of Aster DM Healthcare, emphasized the centre as the first of many, with future plans for similar services to be rolled out across the Aster network in the UAE.
High demand for developmental support services has been noted, with studies indicating that up to 16% of children in the UAE are born with low birth weight, increasing their risk for later developmental issues.
Furthermore, autism affects approximately 1 in 146 births in the UAE, with ADHD impacting as many as 8.8% of children.
Dr. Sherbaz Bichu, CEO of Aster Hospitals and Clinics in the UAE, Bahrain, and Oman, highlighted the necessity for specialized care amidst growing parental concerns regarding children's developmental and behavioral issues.
He noted the importance of the centre in offering proper assessment, counseling, and integrated specialized care.
Dr. Prashanth Gowda, Co-Founder of DYU Healthcare Consultancy and Founder of DYU Healthcare India, remarked that the centre centralizes medical, paramedical, and remedial services, thereby enhancing convenience for parents.
The professional team is trained in top allied health institutions in India and utilizes the latest international tools for evidence-based, tailored interventions.
The centre operates from 9 am to 7 pm daily, with an expected output of over 20,000 therapy sessions annually, serving around 350 children and conducting assessments for approximately 500.
Plans are in place for the expansion to 10 additional locations across the UAE within the next two years, along with initiatives that include cultural activities, competitions, and outreach programs in collaboration with local nurseries and schools.
