Philippine Team Crowned Champions of 2025 Women's Ice Hockey Asia Championship
The Philippine national women's ice hockey team secured the title after defeating Iran 4-2 in the final match held in Al Ain.
The Philippine national women's ice hockey team claimed the championship title at the 2025 Women's Ice Hockey Asia Championship, defeating the Iranian team by a score of 4-2 in the final match.
The tournament took place at the Al Ain Ice Rink, organized under the auspices of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and featuring participation from six teams: the UAE, India, Malaysia, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, and the Philippines.
In the concluding matches of the tournament, India achieved a narrow victory over Kyrgyzstan, finishing 3-2, while the Philippine national team suffered a loss to Malaysia, conceding three goals without scoring.
The prize distribution ceremony was conducted by Jumaa Al Dhaheri, the Secretary-General of the UAE Winter Sports Federation and Vice President of the Arab Ice Hockey Federation, alongside Ivaz Omarnakov, President of the Asian Ice Hockey Federation.
The ceremony was attended by Khalaf Salem Al Wahidi, Director of Operations at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and Mahmoud Al Saleh, Director of the Office of the National and Executive Director of the Special Olympics UAE.
Jumaa Al Dhaheri emphasized the significance of the tournament within the agenda of the UAE Winter Sports Federation, highlighting the opportunity it provided for the national team players to enhance their skills and competitive abilities.
He noted that the event showcased a high level of technical performance and collaboration among the participating teams.
