Severe Weather Conditions Impact UAE's Eastern Regions with Increased Rainfall
Heavy rain and humidity forecasted in Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, and Sharjah until midweek.
Dubai: Heavy rain has affected the eastern regions of the United Arab Emirates, particularly Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, and Sharjah, as noted by the National Center of Meteorology (NCM).
On June 9, 2025, the NCM issued yellow and orange weather alerts for cloudy conditions and potential rainfall in various parts of the northern and eastern Emirates.
Recent precipitation has been reported in locales such as Suhailah and Al Ghayl in Ras Al Khaimah, Laweedid in Sharjah, and Al Hanyah and Masafi in Fujairah.
Light to moderate rainfall was observed on the afternoon of June 9, and the wet weather is expected to continue through at least Wednesday, June 11. In addition, the NCM anticipates fog and mist formations in certain western regions of the UAE, particularly overnight into Tuesday, June 10.
The ongoing weather disturbances are accompanied by a forecast for decreased temperatures in areas experiencing rainfall.
Moderate winds, reaching speeds of up to 35 kilometers per hour, are also expected, potentially resulting in blowing dust in some areas during the day.
Furthermore, the NCM has specified a risk of convective cloud formations leading to rainfall across the eastern and northern regions on June 8, prior to the current heavy rain alerts.
These conditions may persist as the region experiences a gradual increase in humidity during the evenings and mornings.
The overall weather pattern suggests a significant shift, with fluctuations in temperature and humidity that may impact residents and outdoor activities throughout the week.
