Discussions focus on collaboration in technology, defense, and investment between the UAE and India.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence of the United Arab Emirates, met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi to discuss the depth of bilateral relations and future collaborations.

The meeting, held in late October 2023, emphasized the shared vision of both nations, particularly in areas centered on technology, innovation, and sustainable development.

During the discussions, Sheikh Hamdan stated that both the UAE and India are committed to creating opportunities that further enhance their partnership.

India is one of the UAE's largest trading partners, with bilateral trade reaching approximately $85 billion in recent years.

The UAE has emerged as one of the top destinations for Indian expatriates, with millions of Indians working and residing in the Gulf state.

This demographic has contributed significantly to the UAE's economic landscape.

Both leaders reiterated their intentions to strengthen frameworks that facilitate entrepreneurship and innovation between their nations.

The strategic dialogue highlighted the importance of defense collaboration, especially in light of evolving regional security challenges.

Both leaders expressed the need to bolster defense partnerships which include joint military exercises and enhanced intelligence sharing.

Moreover, Sheikh Hamdan and Modi's discussions touched upon cultural exchanges aimed at fostering greater understanding and connectivity between the people of the two nations.

Initiatives in education and tourism were particularly noted as areas of potential growth and collaboration.

The meeting between Sheikh Hamdan and Prime Minister Modi reflects a broader commitment to enhancing the longstanding ties between the UAE and India, with a focus on future-oriented and strategic engagement across various fronts.
