Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Launches Zayed Educational Foundation to Empower Young Leaders

The initiative aims to support 100,000 talented youth by 2035 in addressing global challenges.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, has officially launched the Zayed Educational Foundation, aimed at empowering the next generation of young leaders in the UAE and around the world.

The foundation seeks to develop solutions to pressing global challenges and to significantly impact the economic, social, and environmental advancements by supporting 100,000 promising young talents by 2035.

The establishment of the foundation coincides with the Year of Community, encapsulating the enduring legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who emphasized the importance of education in securing a better future for humanity.

Sheikh Mohamed highlighted that the creation of the institution reflects the UAE's longstanding commitment to cooperation and collaborative action towards a more prosperous future for all.

This vision reinforces the belief of the late Sheikh Zayed that education is a fundamental pathway to the development and resilience of societies in the face of multiple challenges.

The foundation is designed to provide a platform for gifted young leaders in the UAE, the region, and worldwide to engage in study, research, innovation, and collaboration aimed at the well-being of humanity.

Sheikh Mohamed stated that the urgent global challenges necessitate an innovative and cooperative approach for effective solutions.

In a recent post on social media, he remarked, "Inspired by the legacy of my father, Sheikh Zayed, who believed in working for the common good of humanity, we announce the launch of the Zayed Educational Foundation to empower young leaders in the UAE and globally to find effective collective solutions to the challenges affecting millions."

In her remarks, Sheikha Maryam bint Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the Presidential Court for National Projects, stated that the UAE is a hub for individuals with great minds, talents, and aspirations striving to build a better future for themselves, their communities, and their nations.

She emphasized that through the Zayed Educational Foundation, the UAE is expanding opportunities for young leaders worldwide to contribute their ideas, knowledge, and innovations toward building a more sustainable, inclusive, and prosperous future.

The Zayed Educational Foundation aims to establish a global network of young leaders, reinforcing the UAE's commitment to supporting sustainable development at regional and global levels.

Central to the foundation's mission is the Zayed Scholarship Program, which offers merit-based scholarships along with intensive leadership training designed to enhance academic excellence and practical leadership skills.

This initiative is intended to prepare young leaders to create transformative impacts in their communities and beyond.

In addition to scholarships, the foundation plans to invest in pioneering research and innovations within the UAE through grants and impact-focused funding, enabling talented individuals to access resources that help develop tangible solutions to global challenges.

The foundation will initially roll out its initiatives in the UAE, gradually expanding to Arab countries and other global south partners through direct engagement and partnerships with educational institutions, government entities, and local communities.
