Federal Reserve holds the federal funds rate steady at 4.25% to 4.5% amid economic considerations.
The U.S. Federal Reserve announced today that it has decided to keep the federal funds rate unchanged at a range of 4.25% to 4.5%.
This marks the second decision on interest rates in 2025 during the tenure of President
Donald Trump.
The Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) opted to maintain the overnight borrowing rate at this target range, which has been in place since January 2025. The decision comes as the central bank evaluates ongoing economic conditions, including inflation and employment metrics.
