The United Arab Emirates dispatches medical and humanitarian assistance to Angola and Gaza amidst global challenges.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) continues its support for international development and humanitarian aid under the leadership of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Recently, the UAE sent 25 ambulances along with medical equipment and supplies to Angola as part of its commitment to enhance healthcare systems globally.
These efforts are within the broader UAE initiative, announced by Sheikh Shakhbout bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, to support Africa's health sector with a $220 million investment, introduced at the COP28 United Nations Climate Change Conference.
The initiative aims to improve healthcare services and build resilient healthcare systems across Africa to face climate challenges.
Sheikh Shakhbout emphasized the growing bilateral relations between the UAE and Angola, particularly in sectors such as healthcare, which faces significant challenges in Africa due to climate issues and inadequate infrastructure.
He highlighted the importance of international cooperation in achieving sustainable development goals and strengthening healthcare systems.
Further showcasing its humanitarian commitment, the UAE continues to support Palestinians through 'Operation Gallant Knight 3,' which focuses on providing relief to Gaza.
Recently, winter supplies were distributed to 278 displaced families in the 'Atayaf' camp in Khan Younis and 365 families in the 'Al-Eila' camp in Deir al-Balah.
Additionally, winter clothing was provided to 235 families in the 'Al-Muwada' camp.
The operation also aims to alleviate suffering by supporting local bakeries and distributing food parcels to 131 families in 'Al-Wahda' camp within Khan Younis governorate.
These efforts are part of the UAE's ongoing mission to assist those affected by harsh living conditions and demonstrate the nation's humanitarian role in aiding vulnerable populations.
Since the beginning of a ceasefire, the UAE facilitated the delivery of over 1,442 tons of humanitarian aid to Gaza through 'Operation Gallant Knight 3.' Five convoys of 100 trucks passed through the Rafah crossing from Egypt this week, carrying essential food supplies, relief parcels, and shelter materials to provide for those in dire need.
The UAE's humanitarian team in Al-Arish oversees the meticulous loading and transfer of aid to ensure efficient distribution to beneficiaries in Gaza.
Over recent weeks, the UAE has increased its humanitarian efforts to deliver vital support, highlighting its steadfast stance alongside the Palestinian people during challenging times.
The operation has reached a total of 160 aid convoys, delivering approximately 31,026 tons of humanitarian resources, contributing significantly to alleviating humanitarian distress in Gaza.
