UAE Healthcare Spending Projected to Reach AED 200 Billion by 2029
The UAE's healthcare sector is poised for significant growth as it aims to become a global hub for medical excellence.
The United Arab Emirates is experiencing a rapid escalation in healthcare expenditure, with forecasts projecting that spending will exceed USD 55 billion (approximately AED 202 billion) by the year 2029, according to a report by management consultancy Praxis Global Alliance.
In alignment with the UAE's vision to enhance healthcare standards, the average life expectancy has surged to over 78 years, marking a five-year increase since 2010.
This upward trajectory in life expectancy reflects the UAE's commitment to advancing healthcare standards and accessibility.
Additionally, the relatively low healthcare costs in the country have positioned Dubai and Abu Dhabi as top-tier destinations for medical tourism, ranking among the world's top ten.
These cities have become attractive options for international patients seeking high-quality medical treatments at competitive rates.
To further solidify its standing as a leader in international healthcare, Dubai recently witnessed the inauguration of the Sino Hospital, the first Chinese hospital in the emirate.
The opening ceremony was attended by officials from the Dubai Health Authority, senior leaders from Chinese corporations, and representatives from the Gulf Medical University, which is affiliated with the hospital.
Chongang Li, Chairman of Huashi International and Sino Hospital, expressed immense pride in introducing traditional Chinese medicine combined with cutting-edge biomedical technologies from Huashi Group to the UAE.
This milestone not only enhances the diversity of medical expertise available in the country but also underscores Dubai's strategic goal to attract global medical talent and innovations.
The UAE's leadership remains steadfast in its vision to position the nation at the forefront of global healthcare, emphasizing the integration of traditional practices with modern scientific advancements to deliver exceptional healthcare outcomes.
