UAE Issues Fog Warning as Visibility Deteriorates in Major Cities
National Center of Meteorology alerts motorists in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and Al Ain due to thick fog reducing visibility.
The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a fog alert for parts of the United Arab Emirates, particularly affecting Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and Al Ain.
This warning is effective until 9 AM today, as dense fog has reduced visibility significantly, raising safety concerns on the roads.
Motorists have been advised to exercise caution while driving, particularly on major thoroughfares including Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road towards Sharjah, Al Wathba in Abu Dhabi, Hamim Road in the direction of Madinat Zayed, and areas surrounding Al Maktoum International Airport and Dubai South.
In conjunction with the fog conditions, the weather today is forecasted to be fair to partly cloudy, with low clouds likely to appear over the eastern and northern regions of the country.
Daytime temperatures are expected to increase gradually, with inland areas reaching highs between 31°C and 36°C. Coastal regions and islands are projected to see temperatures ranging from 28°C to 32°C, while mountainous areas are likely to experience slightly cooler conditions, with temperatures between 25°C and 29°C.
Humidity levels are anticipated to rise during the night and into Sunday morning, with a possibility of fog or mist forming over some coastal and internal western areas.
Light to moderate winds may carry dust, especially in exposed locations.
The sea conditions are expected to remain calm, with slight waves in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
Authorities urge drivers to remain vigilant, reduce speed, and maintain adequate distances between vehicles to mitigate the risk of accidents in areas experiencing compromised visibility.
