UAE Launches Digital Transformation Platform to Enhance Sports Sector
Agreement signed to accelerate digital innovation and support Olympic movement in the UAE.
Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the National Olympic Committee, witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Sport and the National Olympic Committee to launch the 'Digital Transformation and Sports Innovation Platform.' This initiative aims to expedite the digital transformation process in the sporting sector within the United Arab Emirates, in line with the national sports strategy for 2031.
The platform signifies a significant leap forward in the development of the sports sector by establishing a dedicated entity, to be chaired by Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sport, which will lead the acceleration of digital transformation.
This will involve adopting artificial intelligence applications to support athletes, sports federations, and clubs, thereby enhancing performance governance.
During the event, Sheikh Mansour highlighted that the launch of the Digital Transformation and Sports Innovation Platform represents a new and critical step in the development of the sports sector in the UAE, marking the beginning of a new era focused on knowledge and technology.
He noted that this initiative will bolster the role of sports in national development and support the Olympic movement.
He further stated, "The platform is a foundational pillar in our efforts to enhance innovation and adopt the latest technologies to advance digital transformation in the sports sector, aligning with the objectives of the National Sports Strategy 2031. It aims to provide an enabling environment for athletes and sports institutions to leverage smart solutions that enhance performance and elevate the level of sports in the country to new horizons.
The investment in modern technologies enhances the competitiveness of our sports sector at both regional and international levels, contributing to the leadership and excellence of the UAE in sports, fulfilling the vision of our wise leadership to make sports a fundamental pillar in the path of sustainable development."
The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sport, Ghannam Mubarak Al Hajri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sport, and Fares Mohammed Al Mutawa, Secretary-General of the National Olympic Committee.
This collaboration establishes an integrated sports digital infrastructure based on data, further supporting the UAE's leadership in the sports sector on both regional and international fronts.
