UAE Launches Zayed Education Foundation to Empower Young Leaders

Foundation aims to support 100,000 promising talents for economic, social, and environmental progress by 2035.
The President of the United Arab Emirates has announced the establishment of the Zayed Education Foundation, designed to prepare and support 100,000 promising young leaders by 2035. This initiative aims to foster economic, social, and environmental advancements globally.

Inspired by the legacy of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the foundation is rooted in the belief of uniting humanity through service.

It seeks to develop collective solutions for various challenges impacting millions worldwide.

In his announcement, the President emphasized the UAE's commitment to creating a global platform for talented individuals to collaborate via education, research, and innovation, aimed at enhancing human welfare.

The launch of the foundation aligns with the 'Year of Community' and reflects Sheikh Zayed's enduring emphasis on education as a cornerstone for a better future.

Sheikha Mariam bint Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who serves as the Deputy Chairperson of the Presidential Court for National Projects, stated that the UAE stands as a hub for visionary minds and ambitious individuals.

She highlighted that through the Zayed Foundation, the UAE is committed to expanding opportunities for young leaders worldwide, enabling them to share their ideas and innovate towards achieving a more sustainable, inclusive, and prosperous future.

The Zayed Education Foundation will cultivate a global network of young leaders, reinforcing the UAE's dedication to sustainable development at both regional and international levels.

A primary element of the foundation will be the Zayed Scholarship programme, which offers merit-based university scholarships and comprehensive leadership training aimed at developing both academic and practical leadership skills.

This initiative is intended to empower young leaders to generate transformative impacts in their communities and beyond.

In addition to scholarship offerings, the foundation plans to invest in pioneering research and innovation across the UAE through grants and targeted funding.

This investment will provide talented individuals with the necessary resources to create effective solutions for pressing global challenges.

Initially, the foundation will deploy its programs within the UAE, with a phased expansion planned into Arab countries and partner nations in the Global South, achieved through engagement and strategic collaborations with educational institutions, government entities, and local communities.
