The UAE concludes its final match in the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup with key player exclusions and squad adjustments.
The United Arab Emirates national football team is set to conclude its journey in the third round of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a match against Kyrgyzstan on Tuesday at the Dolen Omurzakov Stadium in Bishkek.
This encounter marks the tenth and final match in Group A, following the confirmation of direct qualification slots for the upcoming tournament.
Despite the match's formal nature, significant developments occurred in the hours leading up to the team's departure to the Kyrgyz capital.
The Disciplinary Committee of the Football Association announced the exclusion of players Sultan Adel and Khalid Al-Dhanhani from the national squad.
Both players have been subjected to a five-match domestic suspension and fined 500,000 dirhams each, although the reasons behind the disciplinary actions were not disclosed.
In response to these exclusions, head coach Olario Cozmin called up player Litheiri Silva from Ajman and striker Alvaro Oliveira from Al-Bataeh to fill the gaps in the squad ahead of the match.
Emirati fans are looking forward to the national team's final appearance in this qualifying phase, hoping for a morale-boosting victory to enhance confidence before the critical Asian playoff in October.
