SEHA Abu Dhabi Dialysis Centre established to provide essential care for residents with kidney failure
Abu Dhabi has inaugurated a new dialysis centre aimed at delivering free treatment for residents suffering from kidney failure.
The SEHA Abu Dhabi Dialysis Centre is a collaborative effort between the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an, which serves as the official platform for social contributions in the Emirate, and PureHealth, recognized as the largest healthcare group in the Middle East, alongside its subsidiary SEHA.
The facility has been established to enhance access to vital healthcare services and to improve the health outcomes for individuals in Abu Dhabi living with renal diseases.
Ma’an indicated that the centre is supported by community contributions, reflecting an initiative to address major social priorities in the region.
This development is part of Ma’an's newly launched 'From The Community to The Community' initiative and coincides with the UAE’s declared Year of Community.
The centre will provide comprehensive dialysis care, ensuring that all residents diagnosed with kidney failure can receive necessary treatment free of charge.
Abdullah Humaid Al Ameri, the Director General of Ma’an, emphasized the importance of community contributions in the establishment of the SEHA Abu Dhabi Dialysis Centre, highlighting its significance for renal patients in the area.
The initiative aims to harness community efforts for social impact, reaffirming the commitment to enhancing essential healthcare access for residents.
The new centre is strategically located on Zayed The First Street and is designed to initially host 112 patients, each requiring dialysis treatment three times per week.
Plans are underway to expand the facility's capacity to accommodate an additional 56 patients, including the provision of peritoneal dialysis services in the future.
The SEHA Abu Dhabi Dialysis Centre features advanced hemodiafiltration machines that are integrated with electronic medical records, which will facilitate real-time patient monitoring and analytics.
Community engagement has been a focal point during the establishment of the centre, with initiatives led by the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) bringing in contributions from various artists.
Notable artists Ghaiath Al Rouba, Nadeem Ka, Charlie VillaGracia, and Christian Ray collaborated to create murals that enhance the ambience of the facility and contribute positively to the healing environment for patients.
Saeed Jaber Al Kuwaiti, Group CEO of SEHA, reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to providing high-quality healthcare services that are accessible to all individuals in need, aligning with the overarching goals of the Year of Community.
The establishment of the centre underscores SEHA’s pivotal role within PureHealth to support and cater to the healthcare needs of the Abu Dhabi community.
