UAE President Extends Eid Al Fitr Greetings and Approves Housing Benefits

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan engages with regional leaders while announcing significant housing support for citizens.
ABU DHABI: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has exchanged Eid Al Fitr greetings with regional leaders, including His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, Emir of Kuwait; His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar; His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain; His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein of Jordan; and His Eminence Dr Ahmed El Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al Azhar.

During these conversations, the leaders expressed their wishes for health, happiness, and prosperity for their respective populations, hoping that the occasion fosters peace and stability across the Arab and Islamic worlds and worldwide.

In a related development, President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in his role as Ruler of Abu Dhabi, has approved a housing benefits package valued at Dh6.75 billion, designed to assist 4,356 Emirati citizens throughout the emirate.

The comprehensive package includes housing loans totaling Dh5.08 billion for 3,172 citizens, land grants along with ready-built houses worth Dh1.585 billion for 1,100 individuals, and exemptions from housing loan repayments exceeding Dh94.8 million for 84 senior citizens, low-income retirees, and beneficiaries of deceased citizens.

This latest approval brings the total housing benefits provided to Abu Dhabi residents since the establishment of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority to over 123,000, amounting to approximately Dh168.85 billion.

The disbursement of this housing package coincides with Eid Al Fitr and underlines the leadership's dedication to enhancing the quality of life for Emirati families, aiming to ensure social stability and well-being, thereby fostering an environment conducive to community participation.

Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, expressed appreciation for the continuous support from the leadership, emphasizing the initiative's role in fulfilling citizens' aspirations for improved living conditions.

The Director-General of Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, Hamad Hareb Al Muhairi, noted that the housing benefits package reflects a commitment to dignified living standards and highlights the emphasis on family stability among Emirati citizens.

This initiative aligns with the emirate's broader development goals, particularly focusing on fostering social cohesion.

Furthermore, in anticipation of the Eid Al Fitr celebrations, Dubai Police have implemented a comprehensive security plan to ensure public safety during the holidays.

Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations, outlined the plan during a recent meeting attended by police officials and department heads.

A total of 471 police patrols will be actively deployed across vital locations, including major mosques, prayer grounds, shopping centers, and tourist sites, in a collaborative effort with traffic authorities.

The operational readiness of the security forces is underlined by the deployment of numerous vehicles, including 34 marine security boats, 68 Civil Defence vehicles, and 21 off-road rescue vehicles, alongside an enhanced transportation framework featuring 13,912 luxury limousines and 55 marine transport vehicles.

The Command and Control Centre is set to operate 24/7, ready to manage emergency calls, and the public is reminded to report emergencies by dialing 999 and non-emergency situations by calling 901, in addition to utilizing the 'Police Eye' app for reporting violations.

As part of promoting community engagement during Eid, Dubai Police, along with various councils, have organized sports tournaments in multiple locations, offering activities such as volleyball, basketball, and tug-of-war, scheduled for the first two days of Eid from 4 PM to 11 PM.
