UAE Weather Alert: Rain and Flood Warnings for Eastern Regions During Eid Al Adha
Precipitation across Fujairah and Khor Fakkan prompts National Center of Meteorology to issue alerts as residents celebrate the holiday weekend.
Rain has been observed in several regions of the United Arab Emirates, particularly in Khorfakkan, Sharjah, and Fujairah, as reported by the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) on Saturday, June 7, 2025. This weather pattern coincides with the Eid Al Adha holiday weekend, providing a welcome respite from the intensifying summer heat.
The NCM has issued yellow and orange alerts for convective cloud formations across the eastern regions, accompanied by a flood alert.
Residents and motorists are advised to exercise caution, particularly in areas susceptible to flooding, such as valleys and low-lying regions.
Specific areas that have reported rainfall include Khorfakkan, Nahwa, the Al Rafisa Dam, Wadi Shees in Sharjah, and Al Qrayyah and Mirbih in Fujairah.
The rain started on Friday, bringing relief to residents seeking to escape the high temperatures usual during this time of year.
Predictions made by the NCM ahead of the holiday weekend indicated the likelihood of rain, which has materialized as anticipated.
The overall weather forecast suggests fair to partly cloudy conditions, with potential convective clouds that may result in further rainfall in the eastern and northern parts of the UAE.
Temperature forecasts indicate highs of 41°C to 37°C in coastal and island areas, with interior regions experiencing 44°C to 39°C and mountain areas ranging from 34°C to 30°C. Additionally, rising humidity levels are predicted for the night and into Sunday morning in some coastal and internal areas, which may lead to the formation of fog or mist.
Wind conditions across the UAE are expected to vary from light to moderate, intensifying at times.
Sea conditions will remain slight in the Arabian Gulf, while the Oman Sea could experience slight to moderate waves.
