Approximately 90% of Gaza's population has been forced to flee their homes since the outbreak of hostilities.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) reported today that nearly 90% of the population in Gaza has been compelled to leave their homes due to the ongoing conflict.
The agency shared this information through a post on its official
Facebook page.
Historical context was provided in the announcement, noting that over 700,000 Palestinians were displaced during the 1948 events known as the Nakba.
UNRWA highlighted that, 77 years later, Palestinians continue to face forced displacement.
The agency detailed that since the commencement of hostilities in Gaza, the vast majority of residents have been affected, with some individuals being displaced as many as ten times or more throughout the duration of the current conflict.
