UAE Banks to End SMS and Email OTPs
App-based verification to replace traditional methods starting July 25
UAE banks will stop sending one-time passwords via SMS and email from July 25, shifting entirely to app-based authentication systems.
The transition is aimed at enhancing security and reducing vulnerabilities associated with phishing and SIM swap fraud.
Financial experts advise customers to ensure their mobile banking apps are updated and secured to avoid disruptions.
