Former Netherlands international Quincy Promes has been extradited from Dubai to the Netherlands to face prison on charges related to cocaine smuggling.

Promes, who ended his career at Ajax, was transferred under an international warrant and is expected to stand trial for drug trafficking and other related offenses.

The extradition highlights the cross-border legal cooperation in tackling international crime.
