The 'Fathers' Endowment' campaign, a Ramadan initiative launched by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, has seen substantial contributions totaling 111 million dirhams.
This campaign aims to honor fathers in the UAE by creating a sustainable endowment fund, with proceeds directed towards healthcare for the poor and those in need.
Prominent Indian businessman and philanthropist Sunny Varkey, alongside his family, has pledged 100 million dirhams to the initiative.
Varkey, whose family has a long history of supporting global education and charitable efforts spanning over 65 years, emphasized the campaign's alignment with the UAE's enduring tradition of philanthropy established since the nation’s founding.
Emirates Islamic Bank contributed 5 million dirhams to the cause, while the Tarek Futtaim Investments Foundation pledged 3 million dirhams.
An additional donation of 1 million dirhams came from Al Ansari Holding, the parent company of Al Ansari Financial Services and Al Ansari Exchange.
The campaign also received 1 million dirhams from Dar Global and Aqua Properties.
Varkey highlighted the importance of this campaign, noting it serves as an extension of the UAE's charitable legacy.
