Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Engages with Tsinghua University President to Strengthen Academic Cooperation
An important dialogue to build educational bridges between the UAE and China
In a pivotal step to bolster academic collaboration between the United Arab Emirates and China, His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate, met with Professor Li Luming, President of Tsinghua University, a prominent research institution in China.
The meeting, which underscores the importance both nations place on higher education and research, centered on enhancing bilateral cooperation particularly in academic fields.
High-profile attendees included Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority; Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary-General of the Executive Council of Abu Dhabi Emirate; and Reem Al Mheiri Maha Marqab, Member of the Board of Trustees of Zayed University and Executive Director of Strategic Affairs at the Executive Affairs Authority of Abu Dhabi.
Tsinghua University, established in 1911 in Beijing, stands as a benchmark of academic excellence globally.
It hosts over 38,000 students across its extensive network of schools and research institutes, offering 51 undergraduate and postgraduate programs covering more than 200 disciplines.
The university is well-regarded for its diverse fields of study, which include economics, civil engineering, aerospace engineering, social studies, law, medicine, and arts, among others.
According to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2024, Tsinghua University is recognized as the premier institution in Asia, reflecting its reputation for academic and research prowess.
