Dubai Police Launches New Zoning Strategy to Enhance Security and Response Times
The initiative aims to improve emergency responsiveness and resource allocation across urban and rural areas.
Dubai Police has initiated a comprehensive zoning strategy that categorizes the emirate into distinct urban and rural areas.
This move is intended to enhance public safety by improving the efficiency of operations and expediting emergency response times, as well as optimizing resource allocation, including personnel, patrol routes, and the deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.
The strategy was announced during a performance review meeting of the General Department of Operations, presided over by Expert Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police for Criminal Investigations.
Senior leadership present included Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Acting Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations Affairs; Major General Dr Saleh Abdullah Murad, Director of Human Resources; as well as several other high-ranking officers.
Major General Al Mansouri emphasized the critical role of the Operations Department in ensuring public safety and the effective deployment of patrols.
He noted that categorizing regions into urban and rural designations would enable police teams to tailor their approach to the unique needs of each area, focusing on priorities such as traffic control, crime prevention, and community outreach.
According to Al Mansouri, this initiative aligns with the broader objectives outlined in the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, which aims to position Dubai among the safest cities globally while improving community satisfaction with law enforcement.
Brigadier Turki bin Faris, Acting Director of Operations, stated that the new zoning model is expected to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen emergency response mechanisms, and foster innovation in policing as Dubai continues to grow and adapt to new challenges.
The strategic allocation of assets based on specific area needs is poised to enhance the overall effectiveness of Dubai Police in maintaining safety and security across the emirate.
