Emirate of Ajman Launches New Quranic Institute

The Hamid Quranic Reading Center aims to promote the ten canonical readings of the Quran.
Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, a member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, and His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Hamid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council, the Hamid Quranic Reading Center was inaugurated during a Ramadan Iftar event held at the Al Zahir Palace.

This initiative seeks to revive the tradition of the ten canonical readings of the Quran and disseminate its sciences through a robust academic methodology that enhances Islamic values.

During the event, Sheikh Hamid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi expressed pride in launching the Hamid Quranic reading initiative during this holy month, describing it as a beacon of knowledge and a project aimed at preserving an important Prophetic tradition.

He emphasized the initiative's role in nurturing generations proficient in the Quran, who can uphold its teachings and promote Islam with its principles of moderation and tolerance.

Sheikh Hamid highlighted that the project aligns with the United Arab Emirates' commitment to the Quran, which serves as a cornerstone of national identity and an inspiration for its values.

He also pointed out the government’s continuous support for scholars and the recognition of the Quran’s importance in the lives of the people.

Sheikh Ammar bin Hamid Al Nuaimi commended the launch of the initiative, emphasizing its focus on educating the youth in the sciences of Quran and ensuring the ten readings are passed on to future generations.

He confirmed the provision of necessary support to the program to bolster Islamic identity and reinforce the teachings of the faith.

In a statement, Dr. Omar Habtoor Al-Dhary, Chairman of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs, praised Sheikh Hamid's charitable initiative, asserting that it complements his considerable efforts in serving the Quran.

He noted that it reflects the leadership's dedication since the formation of the UAE to promote Quranic education among its citizens and youngsters, alongside innovative endeavors that ensure the permanence of these teachings through the establishment of modern Quranic institutions.

Guests attending the opening of the Hamid Quranic Reading Center included Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamid Al Nuaimi, representative of the Ruler of Ajman for Administrative and Financial Affairs; Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Hamid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Department of Tourism Development; Sheikh Rashid bin Hamid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Municipality and Planning Department; and Sheikh Rashid bin Ammar Al Nuaimi, Vice Chairman of Ajman Sports Club.
