Mira Al-Balooshi, a 25-year-old Emirati, has distinguished herself with a professional journey that underscores a profound commitment to sustainability and environmental innovation.

Her hard work and creativity have earned her the Young Professional of the Year award at the prestigious Major Projects Awards for the Europe and Middle East Africa (EMEA) region.

The Young Professional of the Year award is renowned for promoting excellence in various construction, development, and sustainability standards.

It encompasses multiple categories, including individual awards, sustainability awards, developer awards, contractor awards, and project awards, representing a widely recognized badge of distinction in the global marketplace.

From an early age, Al-Balooshi harbored a passion for environmental protection, viewing it not merely as a hobby but as the seed of a dream that grew alongside her.

This passion led her to pursue studies in environmental management and sustainability at Zayed University in Abu Dhabi, where she acquired foundational knowledge in environmental management and sustainability principles that would later form the cornerstone of her professional success.

After graduation, Al-Balooshi joined Parsons, where she found an ideal environment to nurture her ambitions.

The company promotes Emirati youth through localization programs, training, and mentorship, allowing Al-Balooshi to refine her skills and develop her capabilities.

In just two years, she distinguished herself in her work, earning the title of Sustainability Expert.

She implemented sustainability standards across various projects while continuing her academic pursuits by studying for a master’s degree in environmental management and sustainability, effectively translating theoretical knowledge into practical applications.

Al-Balooshi has worked to ensure that her achievements extend beyond her professional environment.

She actively promotes environmental awareness, participating in educational events and contributing to initiatives that aim to enhance the concept of green living.

She has organized numerous activities with the aim of fostering community leadership and encouraging young women to engage in environmental and engineering fields.

These continuous efforts have propelled her to the forefront of recognition and acclaim, culminating in her receipt of the Young Professional of the Year award at the Major Projects Awards for the EMEA region, as well as the Parsons Unsung Hero Award and the Change Maker Award, among others.

Al-Balooshi expresses great pride in the support provided by the United Arab Emirates to women, viewing this backing as fundamental to her many successes.

The Emirati community has offered an environment that believes in women’s capabilities, providing opportunities for them to establish themselves in various fields.

For her, this commitment to empowering women not only transforms individual lives but elevates society as a whole toward a brighter future.
