Innovative Solutions Workshop Addresses Social Support Beneficiary Needs
Collaboration between the Ministry of Community Empowerment and Abdullah Al Ghurair Foundation aims to enhance employment readiness among social support beneficiaries.
The Ministry of Community Empowerment, in partnership with the Abdullah Al Ghurair Foundation, organized a workshop titled "Co-designing a Social Support Program to Enhance Employment Readiness." The event focused on discussing and developing innovative solutions to meet the needs of beneficiaries of social support programs, ultimately aiming to increase their job opportunities that align with their skills and capabilities.
This initiative is part of ongoing collaborative efforts to improve community quality of life and achieve economic empowerment for all societal segments, thereby bolstering social cohesion and stability.
The workshop was attended by several notable individuals, including Noor Abu Al-Houl, the Assistant Undersecretary for the Social Support and Empowerment Sector, and Mona Ghandour, the Vice President for Partnerships and Programs at the Abdullah Al Ghurair Foundation, alongside various officials, social workers, and beneficiaries of the social support program.
The workshop featured two panel discussions that addressed major employment challenges, the skills required in the current job market, and the potential roles different stakeholders can play in supporting beneficiaries of social support programs.
The discussions also explored innovative employment solutions, effective methods to enhance beneficiaries' readiness, and strategies to make them more competitive in the labor market.
Additionally, the role of civil society and the private sector in enabling these individuals was examined.
Several beneficiaries of the social support program participated in discussions, sharing their views and suggestions which enriched the workshop outcomes.
Topics of discussion included the challenges they face when searching for employment, the major platforms they utilize, their experiences with the "Nafis" program, and the significance of professional training and development programs in upgrading their skills, along with the organizations that provide these services and the processes involved in accessing them.
