Sheikh Abdullah Engages in Key Diplomatic Meetings in Denmark
UAE Foreign Minister discusses bilateral relations and sustainable initiatives with Danish leaders in Copenhagen.
On Wednesday, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), commenced a working visit to Denmark with a meeting at the Royal Palace in Copenhagen with King Frederik X of Denmark.
During this engagement, Sheikh Abdullah conveyed the best wishes of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed and underscored the desire to enhance bilateral relations between the UAE and Denmark.
Discussions during the meeting with King Frederik X centered on potential collaboration in various sectors, with an emphasis on expanding joint efforts.
Following this audience, Sheikh Abdullah met with Lars Lokke Rasmussen, Denmark’s Foreign Minister, where they signed a significant agreement focusing on sustainable agricultural practices and food systems.
The dialogue between Sheikh Abdullah and Rasmussen also encompassed a review of the existing bilateral ties, exploring avenues for cooperation in diverse sectors, including health care, renewable energy, and artificial intelligence.
They exchanged perspectives on broader regional and international developments, particularly concerning the maintenance of international peace and security.
In addition to these high-profile meetings, Sheikh Abdullah also had an audience with Soren Gade Jensen, the Speaker of the Danish Parliament.
Their discussions highlighted the importance of strengthening parliamentary relations, emphasizing the key role that national legislatures play in fostering international partnerships.
Sheikh Abdullah’s delegation during this visit included Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Co-operation; Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic and Commercial Affairs; Fatima Al Mazrouei, UAE ambassador to Norway and non-resident ambassador to Denmark; Abdullah Balalaa, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Energy and Sustainability; Omran Sharaf, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Advanced Science and Technology; and Omar Saif Ghobash, Adviser to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and non-resident ambassador to the Vatican.
