Sheikh Hamdan Applauds UAE Manufacturing Growth at Make It in the Emirates Forum

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed emphasizes the vital role of the industrial sector in bolstering the UAE economy during his visit to a key manufacturing conference in Abu Dhabi.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, the Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence, recently attended the Make It in the Emirates forum held in Abu Dhabi.

The event aimed to showcase the advancements in the UAE's manufacturing sector and promote local industrial capabilities.

During his visit, Sheikh Hamdan highlighted the industrial sector as 'a fundamental pillar of the UAE economy,' reflecting the government's strategic focus on diversifying its economy beyond oil and gas.

The Make It in the Emirates conference brings together industry leaders, policymakers, and experts to discuss innovations in manufacturing, sustainability practices, and the potential for foreign investment in the UAE.

The forum also serves as a platform to encourage local companies to increase production capacities and reduce dependency on imports.

In recent years, the UAE has undertaken significant initiatives to enhance its manufacturing base, including investment in advanced technologies and infrastructure.

The government's strategies to foster entrepreneurship and innovation in the industrial sector have been bolstered by various economic stimulus packages and incentives aimed at attracting global manufacturing firms to establish operations in the region.

The conference featured key discussions on the integration of modern technologies such as artificial intelligence and robotics into manufacturing processes, showcasing the UAE's commitment to aligning with global trends towards Industry 4.0.

This focus on the industrial sector is in line with the UAE's long-term economic vision, which aims to increase the contribution of manufacturing to the national GDP. Various stakeholders at the conference expressed optimism about the future of production in the UAE, particularly in sectors like aerospace, pharmaceuticals, and food processing, which have shown substantial growth potential.

The Make It in the Emirates forum is part of a broader push by the UAE to enhance its role as a manufacturing hub within the Gulf region, aiming for sustainable growth while fostering economic resilience amid global market fluctuations.
