UAE's Astronaut Sultan AlNeyadi Highlights Space Exploration at Expo 2025 Osaka

Dr. Sultan AlNeyadi shares insights from his mission aboard the International Space Station at the UAE Pavilion.
Dr. Sultan AlNeyadi, an astronaut and the UAE’s Minister of State for Youth Affairs, showcased his journey through space during a recent appearance at the UAE Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka.

As one of the Pavilion’s featured ‘Dreamers Who Do,’ he provided visitors with a firsthand account of his six-month mission aboard the International Space Station (ISS) and discussed the UAE's ambitions in space exploration.

During his visit, AlNeyadi interacted with an international audience, sharing details about the day-to-day life in orbit and the scientific experiments carried out during Expedition 69. He emphasized the importance of global collaboration in advancing space research, highlighting how international partnerships can enhance innovation.

A special question-and-answer session enabled children, families, and guests from various countries to engage directly with AlNeyadi.

This interaction was part of a broader initiative to inspire the next generation through stories of space exploration and technological advancement.

Welcomed by Shihab AlFaheem, the UAE Ambassador to Japan and Commissioner General of the UAE Pavilion, AlNeyadi toured the Pavilion’s immersive experiences, which outline the UAE’s transformation and showcase various stories of individuals who are shaping the future—from space explorers to sustainability advocates.

One of the prominent features of the Pavilion is the Explorers of Space zone, where AlNeyadi is included among the 'Dreamers Who Do,' a group recognized for turning national aspirations into global achievements.

His involvement lent personal significance to the exhibit, fostering a deeper connection with visitors.

In his remarks, AlNeyadi expressed his pride in representing the UAE’s narrative on a global platform.

He noted, "The ‘Dreamers Who Do’ experience highlights the UAE’s belief in its people.

In just a few years, we have moved from ambition to achievement in space exploration.

Our growing collaboration with Japan exemplifies the potential of shared vision in shaping a better future for humanity."

AlNeyadi’s attendance coincided with Expo 2025’s ‘Future of Community and Mobility’ theme week, which delves into how scientific advancements and innovation can enhance societal connections and development.

His participation was seen as part of the UAE’s effort to lead discussions on future-oriented topics, especially regarding space and cutting-edge technology.

Ambassador AlFaheem remarked on the significance of AlNeyadi's visit, stating, "We were honored to welcome Dr. Sultan AlNeyadi to the UAE Pavilion.

His story continues to inspire and reflects the values and ambition that define the UAE’s presence on the world stage."

The UAE Pavilion remains open to the public at Expo 2025 Osaka, offering an engaging multi-sensory experience that highlights the rich tapestry of people, ideas, and accomplishments shaping a sustainable and prosperous future.
