UAE Conducts Medical Evacuation for Gaza Injured and Family Members
The United Arab Emirates evacuates 188 individuals from Gaza, marking the 24th flight as part of ongoing humanitarian efforts.
ABU DHABI: In an urgent humanitarian initiative, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has successfully conducted its 24th medical evacuation flight, bringing 188 individuals, including 81 injured persons and cancer patients, from the Gaza Strip to the UAE for medical treatment.
The flight landed in Abu Dhabi at dawn on March 28, 2025, and was facilitated in cooperation with the World Health Organization (WHO).
Among the evacuees, approximately half are children, illustrating the impact of the ongoing crisis on the most vulnerable populations in Gaza.
The patients were evacuated from Ramon Airport in Israel via the Karam Abu Salam crossing, accompanied by around 107 family members.
This evacuation aligns with the directives set forth by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who aimed to provide medical treatment to 1,000 children and 1,000 cancer patients from Gaza.
Upon arrival in Abu Dhabi, medical teams immediately engaged in transferring critically wounded patients to hospitals for urgent care.
Other evacuees and family members were taken to the Emirates Humanitarian City for further assistance.
The UAE’s efforts in this domain reflect its long-standing commitment to support the Palestinian people amid ongoing humanitarian crises.
Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Vice Chairman of the UAE Aid Agency, stated that the country aims to continuously evacuate and provide advanced medical treatment to injured Palestinians, reaffirming the UAE’s role in humanitarian aid during critical circumstances in Gaza.
Alongside the evacuation efforts, the UAE has established a field hospital in the southern Gaza Strip and deployed a floating hospital ship at Egypt’s Al-Arish Port.
The nation has also supplied medical equipment, medication, and other essential resources to hospitals in Gaza since the onset of the crisis.
These initiatives reflect the sustained humanitarian response aimed at alleviating the suffering of civilians in Gaza and mitigating the repercussions of the escalating crisis.
