Sheikh Mohamed and Shehbaz Sharif discuss bilateral cooperation during a working visit.
President Sheikh Mohamed of the United Arab Emirates welcomed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif of Pakistan on Thursday in Abu Dhabi.
The meeting took place at Qasr Al Shati, where the leaders exchanged greetings for Eid Al Adha and engaged in discussions aimed at enhancing bilateral cooperation.
This meeting is part of Prime Minister Sharif's working visit to the UAE.
The dialogue between Sheikh Mohamed and Sharif prominently featured topics related to economic, investment, and development sectors, as well as regional and international issues of mutual concern.
Prime Minister Sharif arrived earlier on Thursday and was greeted at Al Bateen Airport by Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Adviser.
The Pakistani government indicated that the visit would address a broad spectrum of bilateral, regional, and global matters significant to both nations.
Accompanying Prime Minister Sharif is a high-level delegation, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, along with several federal ministers and senior officials from the Pakistani government.
A spokesperson from Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted that this visit underscores the long-standing fraternal ties between Pakistan and the UAE.
Notably, previous meetings between Sheikh Mohamed and Mr. Sharif occurred during the latter's earlier visit to the UAE in February, where he attended the World Governments Summit in Dubai.
Additionally, Sheikh Mohamed visited Prime Minister Sharif in January in Rahim Yar Khan, Pakistan.
The relationship between the UAE and Pakistan is significant, with approximately 1.7 million Pakistani citizens residing in the UAE.
Diplomatic relations have existed since the formation of the Emirates in 1971, marking over five decades of cooperation and partnership between the two countries.
