Umm Al Quwain Declares Three Days of Mourning Following the Death of Sheikha Hassa
Flags at half-mast as the mother of Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla passes away
A three-day period of mourning has been declared in Umm Al Quwain following the passing of Sheikha Hassa bint Humaid bin Abdulrahman Al Shamsi, the mother of Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, the Ruler of Umm Al Quwain.
The announcement was made by the Ruler's Court, which stated that flags across the emirate will be flown at half-mast during this mourning period.
The funeral prayer for Sheikha Hassa is scheduled to take place on Monday after the dhuhr prayers at Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Mualla Mosque in Al Ras, Umm Al Quwain.
Condolences have been expressed by the rulers of other emirates, including Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, who extended his sincere sympathies to Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla and the Al Mualla family.
In a similar gesture, Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, issued a statement expressing condolences and mourning the loss of Sheikha Hassa.
Additional condolences were sent by Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Ruler of Fujairah, and Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Ruler of Ajman.
The community is expected to come together to mourn the passing of the respected matriarch.
