Al Wasl Inflicts First Home Loss on Al Nasr Under Alfred Schreuder
Al Wasl secures a narrow victory over Al Nasr, ending a 450-day unbeaten streak at home in the ADNOC Pro League.
Dubai – Al Wasl has dealt Al Nasr their first home defeat in over 450 days, under the management of Dutch coach Alfred Schreuder, defeating them 1-0 in the ADNOC Pro League match held last night.
Prior to this match, Al Nasr had not lost at their home ground, Al Maktoum Stadium, in the past 15 months.
With this victory, Al Wasl has increased their points tally to 24, positioning them seventh in the league standings, while narrowing the gap to fourth-placed Al Nasr to just two points.
In another match, Al Bataeh played to a draw against Daba Al Hassn, with both teams scoring two goals each at the Khalid bin Mohammed Stadium in Sharjah.
Al Bataeh's goals were scored by Edilson Alberto and Anatoly in the 23rd and 38th minutes, while Mediana Bejna and Alyoun Nador netted for Daba Al Hassn in the 3rd minute and at the 90+5 mark.
Following the match, Al Bataeh's points tally stands at 12, placing them in 12th position, while Daba Al Hassn has accrued 10 points, remaining in 13th place, just above the bottom of the table.
Additionally, Bani Yas achieved a crucial 3-2 victory against their host, Ajman, in a thrilling encounter at Rashid bin Saeed Stadium.
Ajman played with ten men from the fourth minute after receiving a red card.
The match featured a dramatic finish as Ajman, trailing 3-0, rallied to score two goals within two minutes late in the game.
Bani Yas’ goals were scored by Youssouf, Fawaz Awana, and Lazar Markovic in the 13th, 18th, and 73rd minutes, respectively, while Ajman’s goals came from Milos and Silva in the 87th and 88th minutes.
This win allows Bani Yas to equal Ajman at 19 points in the league table.
