Dubai Customs Seizes 147.4 Kilograms of Illicit Drugs in Major Bust
Customs officials in Dubai prevent a significant drug smuggling attempt through advanced surveillance and inspection techniques.
Dubai Customs, part of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle 147.4 kilograms of narcotics and psychoactive substances through one of the emirate's maritime entry points.
Customs inspectors identified the suspicious shipment and escalated their surveillance and inspection efforts, employing the latest security technologies and advanced methodologies.
Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, stated that the successful interception by Dubai Customs underscores their steadfast commitment to safeguarding the nation from security threats.
He noted the significant advancements achieved in their customs inspection system, facilitated by the preparedness of their security teams and a proactive approach that integrates cutting-edge smart technologies.
Dr. Abdullah Boushnad, Director General of Dubai Customs, emphasized that customs inspection teams operate according to the highest global standards to ensure the security and safety of the country’s land, sea, and air entry points.
These teams are equipped with the latest technologies and advanced training programs, enabling them to play a strategic role in enhancing customs security and effectively countering any smuggling attempts with high precision.
