Dubai Health Authority Launches Fully Digital Birth Certificate Service
New automated service allows parents to obtain birth certificates in multiple languages without visiting physical offices.
The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has introduced a fully digital birth certificate issuance service aimed at streamlining documentation processes for residents.
This innovative service supports the authority's commitment to smart transformation and enhancing government service efficiency.
The digital service enables parents to obtain official birth certificates in Arabic, English, and Urdu, mitigating the need for in-person visits to customer service centers.
The process initiates with hospitals in Dubai submitting birth notifications and requisite documents through an electronic system.
Subsequently, parents can finalize the application on the DHA website, select the number of copies they need, and complete the payment electronically.
This initiative aligns with DHA's broader strategy to improve service accessibility, enhance quality of life, and foster customer satisfaction by minimizing administrative procedures and expediting service delivery for residents.
Birth certificates are processed and issued within one working day.
They can be delivered electronically via email or mobile phone, while parents also retain the option to request a printed copy through a courier service.
In cases where in-person assistance is required, services are still available at the DHA’s Customer Happiness Centre.
Dr. Ramadan Al Blooshi, an advisor to the Director-General of DHA and Acting Director of the Public Health Protection Department, underscored that the new service is designed to enhance customer experiences by delivering quicker and more flexible services.
He indicated that the initiative significantly reduces the time and effort involved for residents, reinforcing the digital transformation goals of the city's governance in service delivery.
Additionally, the new service accommodates requests for extra copies of birth certificates or replacements for those that have been lost.
In such instances, applicants must submit a copy of the original certificate, if accessible, or provide a police report to verify the loss.
Payments can be processed through various electronic methods, including credit cards and bank transfers.
DHA encourages residents to utilize this digital service, which ensures both accuracy and efficiency, contributing to Dubai’s aspiration of becoming the leading smart city with integrated healthcare services.
For further assistance, DHA has set up a dedicated support service for inquiries regarding birth certificates, available through a toll-free number (800 DHA), providing immediate guidance on application procedures, required documentation, and delivery options.
