Dust Alert Issued as UAE Experiences Weather Changes
Residents advised to exercise caution due to reduced visibility and fluctuating temperatures.
The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) in the United Arab Emirates has issued a yellow dust alert due to expected weather conditions affecting visibility and comfort levels across various regions.
The alert was announced on March 21, indicating that fresh to strong southeasterly winds will lead to blowing dust and sand, significantly reducing horizontal visibility to less than 2000 meters in certain areas until 6 PM on the same day.
As of today, the minimum temperature recorded in the region was 12.3 degrees Celsius in Raknah, located in the Al Ain area.
Conversely, maximum temperatures are forecasted to reach between 30 and 35 degrees Celsius, particularly in coastal and island regions.
Looking ahead to the weekend, notable changes in weather are expected.
A significant drop in temperatures is forecasted for Sunday and Monday, March 23 and 24. There is also a possibility of light rainfall, particularly over the islands on Sunday morning.
Moderate to fresh winds are anticipated to persist, potentially causing further blowing dust and sand.
These conditions are expected to reduce horizontal visibility from Sunday through Tuesday, March 25. Wind speeds are projected to reach up to 50 km/h in various parts of the country during this period, amplifying concerns regarding air quality and driving conditions.
Residents are cautioned to remain vigilant as these weather changes unfold.
