300 Children Benefit from Free 'Hope Clinic' Initiative in Dubai
The second edition of 'Hope Clinic' provided essential healthcare services to underprivileged children.
Dubai Health Authority (DHA) organized the second edition of the charitable initiative 'Hope Clinic' at the Al Jalila Children's Hospital, aimed at delivering basic healthcare services to children unable to access medical facilities.
This year’s event coincided with Zayed Humanitarian Day and aligns with the 'Year of Community' objectives, reflecting the leadership's vision for a cohesive and prosperous society.
The 'Hope Clinic' initiative is part of DHA's efforts to enhance health services and strengthen humanitarian values through the provision of free medical examinations and support for patients unable to afford treatment, facilitated by the Al Jalila Foundation, the charitable arm of DHA.
The motto 'Patient First' underpins this initiative.
The event saw participation from Dubai’s General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, which distributed gifts to the children.
Popular cartoon characters, Salim and Salama, also engaged with the children, contributing to a joyful atmosphere.
Additionally, the Emirates Literature Foundation organized reading and educational activities for the children.
Dr. Amer Sharif, Executive Director of DHA, stated that the continuation of the 'Hope Clinic' for a second year demonstrates the authority's commitment to providing comprehensive and sustainable healthcare to children who lack access to medical services.
He highlighted the organization's dedication to philanthropic values as fundamental elements of the healthcare system.
Furthermore, organizing this event in conjunction with Zayed Humanitarian Day reflects the mission of the founding fathers and the leadership to make humanitarian work a sustainable approach, contributing to improved patient lives and hope for a better future.
Dr. Mohammed Al Awadi, Deputy Executive Director of Al Jalila Children's Hospital and Latifa Hospital, expressed pride in the initiative's notable success during its second edition, noting that it provided medical care to 300 underprivileged children across more than 20 medical specialties, marking a 20% increase compared to the previous year.
The initiative also included follow-up medical care for 45 children from the first edition who were undergoing long-term therapeutic programs.
The initiative mobilized 100 volunteers, including medical and nursing staff, as well as students from Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences, who contributed to delivering healthcare services to children, reaffirming DHA's noble mission to support charitable work and enhance community responsibility.
