UAE Mediates New Prisoner Exchange Between Russia and Ukraine
Recent negotiations lead to the successful release of 350 prisoners of war as part of ongoing mediation efforts.
The United Arab Emirates has announced the successful completion of mediation efforts between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, culminating in a new prisoner exchange.
This exchange involved 175 prisoners from Ukraine and 175 prisoners from Russia, bringing the total number of exchanged prisoners between the two nations during these mediations to 3,233.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the UAE expressed gratitude to both Russia and Ukraine for their cooperation in the mediation efforts, highlighting the trust and appreciation both governments have for the UAE's commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict.
With this latest development, the total number of mediations conducted by the UAE during the crisis has reached 13. This is indicative of the friendly relations that the UAE maintains with both Russia and Ukraine.
The Ministry further affirmed that the UAE will continue its efforts to support various initiatives aimed at achieving a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Ukraine and to mitigate the humanitarian impacts emerging from the crisis, including those affecting refugees and prisoners.
