Egypt and Qatar Call for Enhanced Efforts to Implement Gaza Ceasefire Agreement
The two countries emphasize the importance of a joint effort in the aftermath of renewed hostilities in Gaza.
Egypt and Qatar, key mediators in the conflict between Israel and Hamas, reiterated on Thursday the necessity of strengthening joint efforts to implement the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, which is structured in three phases.
This statement emerged following Israel’s resumption of airstrikes and ground operations in the region.
A communiqué from the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicated that Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani held a phone conversation with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelattii to discuss the latest developments in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories.
During this conversation, both parties underscored the need for collaborative actions to resume the processes outlined in the ceasefire agreement aimed at alleviating the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
