On Tuesday, Osama Rabie, the head of the Suez Canal Authority, announced the commencement of operational activities for the Suez Canal Doubling Project.

According to Rabie, the doubling initiative is expected to enhance the canal's capacity by accommodating an additional six to eight vessels per day.
